Role

Research and Design

At Regenerative Design Solutions, we had the opportunity to work on an exciting project named Tugga Watershed Restoration, located near Garowe, Somalia. As part of United Designers, we were approached by Ecosystem Restoration Communities to conduct an online feasibility study for Dryland Solutions, an organization inspired by permaculture ethics and principles. The project aims to establish an Ecosystem Restoration Community that will serve as an educational hub in the region where local communities can find information on maintaining and restoring ecosystems, and making the land more productive.

Our team conducted a thorough online site assessment research, a comprehensive feasibility report, and concept map as part of the feasibility study. The degraded ecosystem in the region has been affected by climate change, floods, and overgrazing, and the organization understands that the land cannot recover without direct, local intervention. The founder of Dryland Solutions, Yasmin Mohamud, believes that people will have the opportunity to learn about regenerative practices and contribute to the restoration of the degraded ecosystem.

At Regenerative Design Solutions, we are proud to have contributed to this project that aligns with our values and mission. We believe that restoring ecosystems is crucial for the health of our planet and communities. We are committed to using our expertise in regenerative design to support projects like Tugga Watershed Restoration and help create a more sustainable future.
